My 101st POST!

In celebration of my milestone of 101 posts I am entering into a competition this digital illustration. I would like to get your insights on how it looks and what could be improved. The competitors are professional artists and illustrators from around the world and I have my work cut out for me.

The first picture is just the illustration. The second is after I placed a crumpled paper background and displacement map to it.

When imagination is set free

Today I introduced Photoshop and my graphic tablet to my older son. I showed him the basic’s (brush, eraser, color change) and told him to paint me a picture. The brush was set on water color style and I set him loose. Here’s what he came up with.

For his first time with a digital pen, I think he did pretty good.

Had some free time and a tablet

Frequently the family and I go to the local library. While my wife heads upstairs to the adult non fiction area, I’ll head on down to the children’s section with the kids. I set them off to find books to read and I pull out my laptop to work on photos and do “work” (a.k.a. play) on the internet.

Well today I decided to bring along the Bamboo graphic tablet and after seting up the kids with their respective books and interests, I sit down and start playing on Photoshop. Here’s what I came up with.

All it needs is a t-shirt and a name in bubble letters, but it was fun.
