What does neurology, Indian art, and photography have in common.

Last night my wife told me that she found a video on You Tube that was interesting and that I should watch it. It’s a lecture by Vilayanur S. Ramachandran, a neurologist professor, about how the design and form of ancient Indian art is interpreted by our brain as art or not art and why.

Now, I am not one for lectures and have a hard time keeping engaged with the speaker. However the presentation was very interesting and gave excellent insight as to how one can set up shots that will bring their composition from good to art in the viewers mind.

But be warned the video is over an hour long and if your not sitting comfortably you will no longer feel your legs at the end. Sit back, get comfortable, and have a paper and pen in hand then find out just how your mind sees fine art in your photography.

Enjoy!
